Concert Bands
WIND ENSEMBLE 1 • WIND ENSEMBLE 2 • SYMPHONIC PURPLE • SYMPHONIC GOLD • CONCERT BAND
The five concert bands at Amador are the cornerstone of the Amador Valley High School band program: Wind Ensemble I (10th-12th grade, auditioned), Wind Ensemble II (10th-12th grade, auditioned), Symphonic Band Purple (mostly 11th-12th grade), Symphonic Band Gold (mostly 10th grade), and Concert Band (freshmen).
Each group prepares challenging and dynamic wind literature in concert and contest, performing in a variety of festivals and concerts.
Wind Ensemble I has performed three times at the state music conference and performed at the Midwest Clinic, an international band and orchestra festival, in 2013 and again in 2019. The combined Wind Ensembles performed in April 2018 and April 2022 at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
All bands perform in winter and spring concerts and participate in the spring CMEA festival. In the fall, interested students can audition for spots in regional and all-state honor bands.
Auditions are held each spring for the Wind Ensembles. Wind Ensemble 1 meets before school during "A" period. The other concert bands meet during the school day.
