Marching Band & Colorguard

The Amador Valley High School Marching Band began in 1928 with 23 students and has grown to over 300 students in the band’s 90 year history, making it one of the oldest, largest, as well as most prestigious marching bands in the state of California.

The Marching Dons are a voluntary organization consisting of over 320 students each year. The band has been a Western Band Association (WBA) State Finalist every year since 2005 and are a Bands of America (BOA) Regional Finalist at each regional they have attended. Our Marching Band is a 13-time Western Band Association finalist and a 5-time Bands of America Regional finalist. Additionally the band has twice appeared in the London New Year’s Day Parade in 2005 and 2009. Most recently, in 2019, Amador finished first in its division at the Fiesta Bowl National Marching Band Competition.

Serving as the largest single campus activity at Amador Valley High School, the members of the band proudly serve as musical and cultural ambassadors for the school and the city of Pleasanton.
