Amador Valley H.S. Music

The Amador Valley High School Music Program consists of five Concert Bands – two Wind Ensembles,  Wind Syphonies, and Symphonic Band.  The Amador Valley Music program also includes three Jazz Bands (Jazz A, Jazz B, and Workshop), two Orchestras and several Choir ensembles, including Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Women's Choir, Mixed Vocal Ensemble and Men's Ensemble.  The Guard and Percussion units perform in two Winterguards and Winter Percussion units.

Mark Aubel

The 2014-15 academic year is Mr. Aubel's  28th year of teaching orchestra, choir, and band.  He has taught at San Mateo High School, Pleasanton Middle School, Harvest Park Middle School, and Amador Valley High School.

Mr. Aubel has been named “Teacher of the Year” twice in his career.  He has served the California Music Educators Association as a site host, adjudicator, and the Area III representative.  Mr. Aubel  has directed honor groups throughout the Bay Area and has performed professionally with Lou Rawles, Jamey Aebersol, and Clay Aiken.

He is the producer and music director for the PUSD district musical and serves on the board of directors for Pleasanton Schools Educational Enrichment. (P.S.E.E.)

Mr. Aubel’s philosophy of education is to help students become better musicians and people through the art of music.
