Amador Valley H.S. Music

The Amador Valley High School Music Program consists of five Concert Bands – two Wind Ensembles,  Wind Syphonies, and Symphonic Band.  The Amador Valley Music program also includes three Jazz Bands (Jazz A, Jazz B, and Workshop), two Orchestras and several Choir ensembles, including Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Women's Choir, Mixed Vocal Ensemble and Men's Ensemble.  The Guard and Percussion units perform in two Winterguards and Winter Percussion units.

Jazz Bands

Amador Valley has a highly successful jazz program consisting of three ensembles:  Jazz A, Jazz B, and Jazz Workshop.  All bands have full jazz instrumentation.  Jazz A and Jazz B consistently earn high honors and awards for their musicianship and skill. In addition, members participate regularly in local, regional and national honors jazz ensembles.

The Amador Valley Music Department and AFM are the hosts of the annual Campana Jazz Festival, Named in honor of Mr. Jim Campana, AVHS Music Director from 1959 through 1979, the Campana Jazz Festival is one of the highlights of the Pleasanton Unified School District’s musical year.
