 Amador Valley has a highly successful jazz program consisting of two ensembles: Jazz "A", which meets during the regular school day, and Jazz "B" - a lab band which meets after school. Both bands have full jazz instrumentation and consistently earn high honors and awards for their musicianship and skill. In addition, members participate regularly in local, regional and national honors jazz ensembles.

The Amador Valley High School Jazz "A' has received unanimous superior ratings at every jazz festival they have attended for the last 5 years. In 2010 and 2011 they placed First in the AAAA Division at the prestigious Folsom Jazz Festival. In 2011, they made it to the finals competition at Folsom as one of the
top four highest scoring bands (out of 65 bands).
