Calendar Update: Visual and Performing Arts Festival PDF Print E-mail
We are pleased to announce that the Amador Valley High School Orchestra, Wind Ensemble I and Choirs will be participating in the P.U.S.D. Visual and Performing Arts Festival on May 22, 2010 at Bankhead Theater in Livermore.   This spectacular event is going to feature six different concerts throughout the day and visual art from all schools displayed throughout the theater.   The exact time of each concert will be determined in the coming weeks.   This festival will replace the district band and strings concerts which were scheduled for March 30 and March 31. Please remove these dates from your performance calendar.  
 
One of the goals of the P.U.S.D. Visual and Performing Arts Festival is to raise funds for our elementary band and strings program which were cut from the district budget last year. This is going to be a spectacular festival and we hope you can come and join us for one of the concerts as we celebrate music and art in our schools.

The 2010 Campana Jazz Festival is nearly tucked away.  You can still relive the memories at the Campana Web Page, to see Results, Photos and Volunteer Appreciations!

What will you be doing for the 2011 Campana Jazz Festival? There will be a particular need for next year's freshmen and sophomore parents to shadow the leads in key festival activities, so you can help to continue the festival in the years to come, and pass it along to your successors, too!  The festival is in great shape, organized in teams, and loads of fun.  Please consider joining the organizational team for Campana 2011.  Need more info?  Contact Marilyn Palowitch.

Pleasanton City Council Honors Marching Band & Color Guard PDF Print E-mail
The City of Pleasanton prides itself on being a Community of Character and is delighted to showcase examples when they hear about them. On January 19, the City Council honored the Amador Valley Marching Band and Colorguard with a special Character for their recent Esprit de Corps award.  The group won the Esprit de Corps trophy at the Merced competition (October 2009) for outstanding sportsmanship and conduct on and off the field.

The Amador Friends of Music, which was also recognized by the Merced Boosters during the presentation of the Esprit de Corp trophy, has recently made the commitment to become an Organization of Character.
